Prestigious Awards

Benjamin Logan Middle School received two honors from the State Board of Education.  For the second year in a row, Benjamin Logan Middle received the Momentum Award, which is a way of recognizing schools that received A’s on every Value-Added measure included on the Ohio School Report Card.

As a Momentum Award winner, a school’s report card shows that a school is committed to its students’ success by ensuring students exceeded the growth expectations in English Language Arts, Science and Mathematics. Success like this is reflection of the commitment, motivation, and hard work of the students and staff at Benjamin Logan Middle School.

The second recognition received form the State Board of Education was the Overall A Award.  As an Overall A Award winner, the students demonstrated high academic performance. The staff can credited toward building bright futures for students of every background and ability level.

123

Benjamin Logan Middle School held its annual spelling bee on Friday, December 14.  A total of 36 students competed in the bee from grades 5th - 8th . One eighth grade student and one sixth grade student went head to head for in the championship round. Eighth grader Isaac Napier spelled the word “espionage” correctly to win the match. Courtney Fansler was the runner up winner.

Napier will take an online spelling test to attempt to qualify for the next level in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.  Both Napier and Fansler will represent Benjamin Logan at the Logan County Spelling Bee in January.
