Raider Spotlight: OMUN

123

Ten BLMA students from 7th and 8th grade participated in Ohio Model United Nations, which is a very unique student-led experience in world problem solving by proposing resolutions and engaging in debate as delegates from various nations. Our girls’ team represented Bhutan, while our boys’ team represented Eritrea.

“There were 1200 middle school students, 40 state officers, 152 originally written resolutions, 152 nations represented, and 90 talent entries at the only 3 day residential model UN program for middle school in the nation.”

We encourage you to apply to be on our OMUN teams next year if you are interested in global research, debate, and presenting a cultural talent showcase.

Middle School Students & High School Musical

Emarie Bensman and Izik Cox were featured in the 2018 Benjamin Logan High School musical, "Singin' in the Rain!" Emarie played the young version of lead Don Lockwood in several flashback vignettes, while Izik played the younger version of Cosmo Brown, his lifelong pal and partner on stage. In other scenes, they were featured as children, playing opposite to the high school students' adult characters. Both Izik and Emarie did a phenomenal job singing, dancing, and acting on stage with the high school students, and working under the direction of Ms. Bair and Mr. Stevens!
